Catch Yourself Doing Right (Weekly Challengers 6/28/10)

Monday, June 28th, 2010

We sure spend a lot of time ragging on ourselves. We find fault with almost everything we do. We’d never be that hard on our friends, and if our friends were that hard on us, well, they wouldn’t be our friends for very long! This week, instead of finding yourself doing something wrong all the time, find yourself doing something right. Ten times a day. Because the truth is, we’re right a lot more often than we’re wrong. We just don’t let ourselves know about it.

Create a To-Don’t List (Weekly Challengers 6/21/10)

Monday, June 21st, 2010

Take a minute- or ten - right now, and list everything you have to do this week. Write it all down. I’ll wait for you.

It’s a long list, isn’t it? Here’s the fun part. Find ten - yes, I said ten - things on that list that you can delegate, put off, or just flat leave undone. Now delegate them, put them off, or cross them off that list completely for this week.

Luck (Weekly Challengers 4/14/10)

Monday, June 14th, 2010

Are you a lucky person? Some people don’t believe in luck, others call it by other names: synchronicity, random chance, coincidence. Whatever you call it, this week notice how often the Universe works in your favor. I’ll bet it’s several times a day, no matter how badly everything else seems to be going. Look for it!

Your Intuition (Weekly Challengers 6/07/10)

Monday, June 7th, 2010

Sometimes, we know things without knowing how we know them. We “sense” it, or it “just comes to us,” or we get a “gut feeling” about something. Western society often discounts this kind of knowing, since it’s not measurable or based on “facts.” But it is a powerful source of information for us, even if we don’t know where it comes from. This knowing -intuition- is a much overlooked ability that we all have. So this week, instead of ignoring your gut feelings, your intuition, pay attention to it. Listen to what it has to tell you. You don’t have to act on it, unless you want to. Just be aware of it, and notice that it’s there.

Completing a Task (Weekly Challengers 5/31/10)

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

There’s something on your “to do” list, or in the back of your mind, that’s nagging at you. Something you’ve been putting off for a while. You know what it is; that thing that creeps into your mind when you least expecting it. Fix that firmly in your mind. Now, decide on a reward that you’ll really enjoy when you get that chore finished. Then this week, do it. If it’s a huge project, at least get it started. Then give yourself that reward! Celebrate it’s completion! And notice how much better you feel to get that off your plate.

Open Your Eyes to Beauty

Monday, May 24th, 2010

We live in a world of incredible beauty and magic, yet most of the time we’re so busy running from one thing to another that we never stop to see it. We miss out on a lot that way. So this week, notice ten magical, beautiful things, every day, and write them down.

Gremlins (Weekly Challengers 5/17/10)

Monday, May 17th, 2010

How many times a day does your critical voice, your negative side, talk to you? What messages does it give you? How often does it tell you “You should,” You must,” “You can’t,” or some other variation on that theme? That critical, self-sabotaging voice is what Richard Carson refers to as “The Gremlin”. (Check out his book, Taming Your Gremlin, available from Amazon.com via “A Good Read” on www.ManageYourMuse.com.) It’s not uncommon to hear that voice upwards of 30 times a day, but we’re so used to it, we’re not even aware it’s there.

This week, start listening for that voice, instread of listening to it. When you hear it, just tell it to go away and leave you alone. You’ll probably have to do that over and over again. Gremlins are sneaky and persistent.

The Time To Change (Weekly Challengers 5/10/10)

Monday, May 10th, 2010

For the past two weeks, we’ve been looking at some of our limiting beliefs. We’ve learned to notice them, and to identify them. Now, we get to change them. Ask yourself, “What would become available to me if I saw this issue in a new way?” Now, figure out that new way (or several new ways), and try them on. Watch how the whole world suddenly opens up for you!

That’s The Way It Is (Weekly Challengers 5/03/10)

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

Often when we go to the “That’s the way it is” place, it’s because we are attached to one way of seeing the issue. We may have been taught that point of view by our parents, absorbed it by osmosis from television or the newspaper, or developed it ourselves. It used to work for us, but we’ve grown up, and it no longer serves us. So this week, continue to notice when you go to the “That’s the way it is” place, stop and figure out what your underlying, stale point of view really is.

Examine Limitation (Weekly Challengers 4/26/10)

Monday, April 26th, 2010

Sometimes all we can see is the limitations in our lives. How often do you think “It has to be this way,” or “That’s just how it is?” And how often do those thoughts keep you from seeing that there are other options and possibilities? This week, notice how often you blindly accept a situation or a limitation without questioning.
